No Arkansas Valley teams listed in any CHSAA baseball polls

The Colorado High School Activities Association released its weekly coaches polls on Monday at CHSAANow.com.

There is only one Tri-Peaks League team in the Class 3A rankings as Lamar debuts in the No. 8 position.

University is the new top-ranked team, followed by Eaton, Lutheran, Faith Christian, Resurrection Christian, Sterling, Brush, Lamar, Gunnison and Bennett.

No other T-PL teams are mentioned, not even in "others receiving votes." Teams in that category include Delta, Colorado Academy, Kent Denver, Alamosa, Moffat County, The Academy, Bishop Machebeuf, Bayfield, Montezuma-Cortez, The Classical Academy and Middle Park.

Rye is the only Santa Fe League team in the Class 2A Top 10 as it is ranked eighth. Two Tri-Peaks teams, St. Mary's and Buena Vista, are ninth and 10th respectively.

Limon is the new No. 1-ranked team, followed by Peyton, Wray, Hotchkiss, Highland, Cedaredge, Calhan, Rye, St. Mary's and Buena Vista.

Swink and Fowler are mentioned as "others receiving votes," along with Wiggins, Burlington, Monte Vista, Dawson School, Sargent, Denver Christian and Meeker.

In Class 1A, Holly is the only top-ranked team not to fall from the top of its perch. Other District 4 teams in the Top 10 include Eads at No. 5 and Stratton/Liberty at No. 8.

Following Holly are Flatirons Academy, Merino, Evangelical Christian, Eads, Nucla, Caliche, Dove Creek, Stratton/Liberty and Haxtun.

Granada and Cheyenne Wells are District 4 team in the "others receiving votes" category. Also on the list are Dayspring Christian, Otis, Rocky Mountain Lutheran, Simla and Elbert.

In the other polls, Chatfield is the new top-ranked team in Class 5A, and Ponderosa is the new No. 1 team in Class 4A.
