Tiger cross country sixth a Rye Invite

The La Junta High School boys cross country team participated in its third meet of the season as it was at the Rye Thunderbolt Invitational Tuesday at Hollydot Golf Course.

Leading the Tigers was Walker Balicki, who was 17th in 22:51.98. Santanel Orosco was 27th in 23:48.00, Paul Hanson was 34th in 25:04.58, Karl Ludwig was 35th in 25:06.05, and Drew Huffman was 38th in 26:02.86.

Pueblo South won the meet with 19 points, followed by Pueblo County with 29, Pueblo East with 43, Antonito with 78, Rye with 91, La Junta with 104 and Colorado Springs School and James Irwin both with 105.

Pueblo East's Cooper Morris was the individual winner as he had a time of 17:32.84.

Pueblo County was the girls team champion with 29 points, followed by James Irwin with 51 and Antonito with 88.

Pueblo South's Mailee Holley won the girls individual championship in 22:13.03.

La Junta' next competition will be the Tri-Peaks League Meet which will take place Oct. 2 at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs.
