Who among us has never wandered into the kitchen first thing in the morning and opened a cold pizza box from the night before?

Yeah, I'm looking at all of you. No judgement here.

As it turns out, pizza may not be that bad for breakfast. Or at least, it may not be worth feeling super guilty over.

According to nutritionist Chelsey Amer, pizza may be healthier for you to eat for breakfast than most of those sugary cereals you have in your pantry.

"You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories," Amer told The Daily Meal.

The nutritionist said pizza has more fat, less sugar and more protein, which means it can keep you more full throughout the morning and you won't experience the sugar crash you sometimes get with cereal.

Don't get any big ideas about eating pizza for breakfast every day -- pizza isn't exactly a health food -- but now you know you can scarf down that cold morning slice relatively guilt-free.
